Treat Low-Lying Eyelids with UPNEEQ

UPNEEQ is a prescription eye drop that temporarily lifts low-lying eyelids for a wider, more open eyes. UPNEEQ temporarily causes one of the muscles that open your eyelid to contract. Contracting this muscle creates a visible lift in as little as 15 minutes and lasts about 6-8 hours.

UPNEEQ is like a photo filter for your eyes! It lasts a few hours and couldn’t be easier to use – just put one drop in each eye! The eye-lift effects of UPNEEQ are most easily seen in adults with acquired ptosis (aka low-lying eyelids) but everyone can experience the instant eye-opening feeling.

UPNEEQ FAQ

How does UPNEEQ work?
UPNEEQ contains oxymetazoline hydrochloride, a vasoconstrictor that causes one of your eye-opening muscles to contract—imagine your eyelid is a garage door and this muscle is the garage door opener.

How long do the effects of UPNEEQ last?
Most people see results quickly, in as soon as 15 minutes. Peak effects occur around 2 hours and last up to 8 hours.

What does it feel like? Is it hard to blink?
The physical feeling from UPNEEQ is subtle – UPNEEQ does not make blinking (or sleeping) difficult. However, in our experience UPNEEQ can make you feel more alert and awake, or bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, if you will – kind of like drinking a cup of coffee without the caffiene.

Can I use UPNEEQ more than once a day?
Studies have only been done on once daily use so we cannot recommend any usage more frequent than that.

Do I have to use UPNEEQ once every day?
No! UPNEEQ only lasts for 6-8 hours regardless of how often you use it. You could put in your UPNEEQ in the morning to make putting on eye make-up a breeze, or you could keep a vial with you to use as a pick-me-up when you’re on the mid-afternoon struggle bus. Or even save UPNEEQ for special events – i.e. when you know you are going to have your picture taken (no more eyes-half-open photos for you!)

What are the most common side effects of UPNEEQ?
The most common adverse reactions with UPNEEQ (occurring in 1-5% of patients) were eye inflammation, eye redness, dry eye, blurred vision, eye pain at time of use, eye irritation, and headache.

Who should not use UPNEEQ?
Patients with uncontrolled hypertension and/or narrow-angle glaucoma should use UPNEEQ with caution.

I use other eye drops. Can I also use UPNEEQ?
Yes! Just wait 15 minutes between using UPNEEQ and any other eye drops (either prescription or over the counter).

Can I use UPNEEQ if I wear contacts?
Yes! However, you must remove your contacts before putting in UPNEEQ and wait 15 minutes before putting them back in.

Does UPNEEQ come in a bottle?
No. UPNEEQ comes in a box of 45 individually-wrapped, one-time use vials, making it easy to take it with you on the go.

I have very good aim when it comes to eye drops – can I make one vial last multiple days?
No. UPNEEQ is preservative-free, so each UPNEEQ vial is for one-time use (not multiple people!) and should be discarded after being used.
