What is the MOXI laser treatment?
MOXI is a non-ablative fractionated laser designed to correct early signs of sun damage and aging. It works by delivering controlled energy to the skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting healthy cell turnover—without the need for significant recovery time. Using fractionated 1927 nm wavelength energy, MOXI targets water in the skin to stimulate new collagen production and improve skin tone and texture—without damaging the surface of the skin.
What does MOXI treat and who is a good candidate?
- Uneven pigmentation and sun damage
- Rough texture and dullness
- Fine lines and early wrinkles
- Enlarged pores
- Melasma (when treated conservatively)
Who is a good candidate for MOXI?
MOXI is safe for all skin types and is especially popular among:
- Patients in their 20s, 30s, and 40s seeking prejuvenation
- People looking for a low-downtime skin refresh
- Anyone wanting to improve uneven skin tone, fine lines, or texture
- Individuals not ready for more aggressive laser resurfacing
- Patients maintaining results after treatments like HALO®
It’s also a year-round treatment, making it a flexible option for maintaining glowing skin in any season.

What happens during a MOXI laser treatment?
Our expert team of medical providers will clean your skin and apply a topical numbing cream to the target areas. This helps reduce discomfort during laser treatment. Once the local anesthetic has kicked in, the procedure is started.
During the treatment, the handpiece glides across your skin, delivering controlled laser energy in a grid-like pattern. You may feel a warm, prickling sensation.
Treatments typically take around 30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.
What happens after a MOXI Laser Treatment?
Healing times and outcomes vary based on the depth and density of your treatment as well as your personal skin concerns and individual healing ability.
Post-treatment, your skin may look pink or feel warm—similar to a mild sunburn. Over the next 2–3 days, you’ll notice a rough texture as tiny “microscopic epidermal necrotic debris” (MENDs) come to the surface. These small spots flake away naturally, revealing fresher, more even-toned skin beneath. It is important to allow these to slough off on their own and not scrub, scratch, or pick at the area while it is healing.
Risks and side effects
MOXI is very safe when performed by trained professionals. Possible side effects include:
- Redness and mild swelling
- Temporary dryness or flaking
- Rare cases of hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation
Following post-care instructions and using sunscreen daily are key to great results and reducing risk.
When can I expect to see results from my MOXI treatment?
Most patients notice a fresh, healthy glow within just a few days after their MOXI treatment—often as soon as the light “pepper spots” naturally slough away. Your skin will continue to improve over the following week as cell turnover increases and new, more radiant skin emerges.
For concerns like uneven tone, texture, or sun damage, a series of treatments delivers the best outcome. With each session, you’ll see progressively smoother, clearer, and more even-toned skin. Many patients describe their results as a “lit-from-within” look that keeps getting better in the weeks after treatment.
Because MOXI works at a gentle, non-ablative level, you won’t have the dramatic downtime of more aggressive lasers—but you will get a gradual, noticeable boost in skin clarity and radiance.
