We use the Candela Perfecta VBeam laser that is a pulsed dye laser with advanced micro-pulse technology. The laser delivers an intense, gentle burst of yellow light to the skin that is absorbed by the blood vessels in the dermis. These blood vessels are coagulated and then reabsorbed by the body during the natural healing process.
The VBeam laser was designed to treat redness due to facial veins, rosacea, angiomas, red birthmarks, hemangiomas, and other benign red-colored lesions.
Laser therapy includes wearing safety eyewear while a small handpiece is applied to the treatment area by the laser nurse or physician. The VBeam laser protects the epidermis during treatment by spraying a cooling mist onto the skin before each laser pulse. Some patients may feel a slight discomfort associated with the laser pulse; however, most patients tolerate the procedure well. The VBeam Perfecta has different sized handpieces for treating various spot sizes and the patented dynamic cooling device helps eliminate patient downtime and bruising.
The number of treatments depends on the condition being treated and size of the area being treated. Responses vary from person to person.
