Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates – Keeping You Safe

We have resumed normal business hours and are seeing our patients back in the office for all exams, consultations, and procedures.

The safety of our DCA patients and staff are of the utmost importance to us as we continue to deliver the highest level of dermatologic care and service to you. To reduce the risk of coronavirus for our in-office visits, we are following the recommendations of the CDC, local, and national health organizations. For your safety, all DCA staff members have their temperature taken and attest to a lack of coronavirus symptoms before beginning work and follow strict hand hygiene throughout the day. We have also instituted new protocols to ensure your visit is as safe as possible. Please read through the information below which will help you prepare for your visit and let you know what to expect.

Patient Safety Protocols

Patients are required to wear protective masks during visits so please bring and wear a mask.
All required paperwork must be completed online 24 hours before your appointment.
Patients should come to their visit alone unless the patient is a child or other dependent and requires a guardian’s care for their visit.
When you arrive, please wait in your car for your appointment. We will text you when we are ready to see you and you may then secure your mask and approach the front door.
Please do not touch the front door handle, your MA (medical assistant) will open the door for you.
Your MA will then check your temperature and ask you some coronavirus screening questions.
Patients who fail the screening will be asked to reschedule their appointments and will be provided suggestions regarding follow-up.
Patients will then be asked to apply hand sanitizer or wash their hands.
Your MA will then escort you to the exam room.
We ask that you please practice social distancing and keep 6 feet away from other patients and staff while in common areas of the building.
Your provider and MA will be wearing a mask, gloves, and possibly eye protection and a gown depending on the reason for your visit.
After your visit, carefully remove your mask and wash your hands for 20 seconds as soon as possible. Remember to avoid touching your face until you can wash your hands.

Office Safety Protocols

After every patient visit, all exam room surfaces are wiped down with disinfecting products that meet the EPA’s criteria against the coronavirus.
All office surfaces are disinfected routinely with disinfecting products that meet the EPA’s criteria against the coronavirus.
Bathrooms are disinfected with disinfecting products that meet the EPA’s criteria against the coronavirus after every patient’s use.
All DCA staff members will have their temperatures taken before beginning work and attest to a lack of coronavirus symptoms.
All staff will follow strict hand hygiene protocols throughout the day.

NOTE: We will still be offering teledermatology visits and recommending them for lower-level issues as well as for those at the highest risk for coronavirus.

Teledermatology uses video conferencing to provide virtual visits for certain conditions. These visits will be scheduled like regular appointments and you will need to use your phone, computer, or iPad with a camera feature. If you need an appointment or refills for your medication, call our office to schedule your teledermatology appointment.
